Frequently
Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about SRVHS Girls Flag Football — from tryouts and eligibility to schedules, rules, and the equipment we use.

01

Is this a school sanctioned sport or a club?

Flag Football is a Varsity sport that has been approved by the state as a new official sport for California. It operates the exact same way that all other established sports on campus operate and will adhere to all of the rules and restrictions bound to the sport.

02

Can 8th graders come to open field times?

Yes! Open Fields are open to the community.

03

I signed up at "Welcome to the Wolfpack" night on the interest list, but have not heard anything from the school?

There are rules in place that do not allow the school to contact 8th grade students about sports at the High School until May 1st. Coach Cochran is very excited to meet the 8th graders, but he cannot reach out until then.

04

What size ball are we using?

We are using a "Youth" sized football.

05

Where can I find the rules for the game?

Official NFHS Flag Football rules: nfhs.org/sports/flag-football/rules.

06

When are games and practices?

Check the Schedule page for the most up to date info.

07

I have some conflicts on a few days, should I still try out for the team?

YES! We want everyone to try out for the team. We understand if you have some conflicts with our schedule.

Still Curious?

Open fields, tryouts, and program events are listed on the schedule. All prospective players and families are welcome.
